Printed on Epson Hot Press Natural

Epson Hot Press 100% Cotton Rag Paper is simply beautiful. The choice was simple for this black and white image of a lone tree captured along the Grand Canyon South Rim. The smooth finish with deep blacks and natural whites was the obvious choice when mounting behind acrylic and a black frame.

Point Lonsdale - A rocky coast, a lighthouse and a pier all mashed together.

How wonderful is Point Lonsdale, not only do you have panoramic views across the bay to Portsea but you get the historic lighthouse which first opened in 1902 and you also get the earlier built pier. The beauty about this spot is that all these historic landmarks are mushed together.

I’m not going to go into the hard facts about the history of the lighthouse or the pier and will leave that to Wikipedia, what I would like to mention is that visiting this place has much to offer from a photographers point of view.

Just this week I had the opportunity to re-visit Point Lonsdale after many many months of uncertainty and lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With summer in full swing the forecast was looking promising and without much hesitation I packed my photography gear and drove the 1.5 hour distance from my home to this location.

Horseshoe Bend With a Different Perspective

Standing on the edge of Horseshoe Bend is an exhilarating feeling, seeing this place for the first time was a feast for the eyes. Captured images just don’t do it justice, the sheer size of this canyon is difficult to capture on camera. On this particular day I was faced with strong winds that made standing on the edge very dangerous, and yet I was drawn to sheer drop below. I captured this image as I stayed low to ground securing myself by wedging my feet into the rock.

Framed in black and glazed in acrylic sheet titled ‘Across The Edge’ is a limited edition print of 100 copies only.

Zabriskie Point is part of the Amargosa Range located east of Death Valley in Death Valley National Park in California, United States. Noted for its erosional landscape it is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago, long before Death Valley came into existence.

Titled ‘Iridescence’ this colourful print is sharp with detail, vibrant in colour saturation with a high gamut. Framed in white and ready to hang this print is available to purchase in several format sizes.

Eagle Rock at Aireys Inlet on the Great Ocean Road.

Sunday was set aside for photography and the destination was Eagle Rock at Aireys Inlet on the Great Ocean Road. With uncertain weather conditions the Great Ocean Road never fails to surprise and today was no different to any other. After having arrived on location I decided to pack light as I made my way down the steps and onto the coastline.

The gear I packed was a new Mamiya 645 Sekor 45mm f/2.8 lens using the Fotodiox Pro TLT ROKR adapted to my GFX50s. The goal was to achieve a stitched image using 2 files by shifting the lens which allows for a seamless stitch.

As the sun began to set on the horizon a beautiful glow illuminated Eagle Rock enhanced together with a low tide for that perfect reflection. The 2 image stitch provided a 90mp file with lots of detail allowing for effortless large scale printing.

This image shown below was the result of Sunday’s excursion to Aireys inlet on the Great Ocean Road.
