Point Lonsdale - A rocky coast, a lighthouse and a pier all mashed together.

How wonderful is Point Lonsdale, not only do you have panoramic views across the bay to Portsea but you get the historic lighthouse which first opened in 1902 and you also get the earlier built pier. The beauty about this spot is that all these historic landmarks are mushed together.

I’m not going to go into the hard facts about the history of the lighthouse or the pier and will leave that to Wikipedia, what I would like to mention is that visiting this place has much to offer from a photographers point of view.

Just this week I had the opportunity to re-visit Point Lonsdale after many many months of uncertainty and lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With summer in full swing the forecast was looking promising and without much hesitation I packed my photography gear and drove the 1.5 hour distance from my home to this location.
