I’ve spent years behind the lens, photographing wide-open landscapes, dramatic city scenes, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed. Based in Melbourne, I’ve built my photography business around capturing art—whether it’s local architecture or breathtaking natural scenery from my travels. And now, I’m taking the next step: launching my first international photography workshop. The destination? Iceland.
I’m no stranger to this incredible country. I’ve travelled to Iceland twice before, and both times it left a deep mark on my creative process. There’s something elemental about it—raw, moody, constantly changing. As someone who lives and breathes fine art photography, Iceland represents a kind of photographic dreamscape. Snow-covered peaks, black sand beaches, steaming geothermal vents, ice caves, and towering waterfalls—it’s like nowhere else on Earth.
Why Iceland, and Why Now?
2025 is the perfect time to return, both creatively and professionally. This year marks a peak in solar activity, which means auroras are expected to be more frequent and vivid than we've seen in a decade. Add to that recent volcanic eruptions reshaping parts of the island, and you’ve got an entirely new visual story to explore—one I’ve never seen before, even on my previous visits.
For photographers, Iceland isn’t just a location—it’s a living canvas. The contrasts, the atmosphere, and the silence between each gust of wind or shift in weather—it’s made for image-making that goes beyond snapshots.
What’s Coming
Later this year, I’ll be offering a small-group photography workshop and tour through Iceland. It’ll be hands-on, immersive, and completely focused on artistic development. This isn’t a sightseeing trip—it’s a guided experience built for capturing serious work in unforgettable conditions.
We’ll chase the best light, explore the country’s wild southern and western reaches, and work on everything from composition and long exposures to creative mindset and image curation. If you’ve ever wanted to go deeper with your photography in a place that stirs something primal—Iceland 2025 is your moment.
What’s in My Bag for Iceland
For the gear heads, here’s a peek at what I’ll be packing:
Camera: Fujifilm GFX100 – medium format magic that pairs beautifully with landscapes.
Lenses: My go-to wide and standard primes—perfect for dramatic skies and intricate textures.
Filters: I always shoot with a filter when needed—my black and white work is part of my signature style.
Tripod & ND filters: Essential for long exposures and moody light.
Protective gear: Iceland’s weather turns on a dime, so gear needs to be ready for anything.
Stay Tuned
This is the first of many weekly blog posts, published every Friday. I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes looks at my process, deep dives into techniques and equipment, stories from the gallery, and insights into the fine art photography world.
Next week, I’ll talk about black and white infrared photography, how it fits into my artistic vision, and why it’s so powerful when printed large.
If you're into fine art landscapes, moody city geometry, and the thrill of crafting something meaningful with a camera—this space is for you.
